A bank can certainly deny a claim involving strange transactions. That does not necessarily mean its conclusion about what happened is correct.
This is where consumers get understandably angry. They may see transactions that make absolutely no sense: enormous purchases, repeated small charges occurring over and over, unusual ATM withdrawals, transactions in strange locations, or spending that bears no resemblance to years of normal account activity.
Yet the denial letter may simply say that the bank investigated and found no fraud.
That can leave you wondering whether anybody actually considered how bizarre the transaction pattern was.
The fact that a transaction went through the banking system does not, by itself, answer the important human question of who actually made it.
I discuss that problem in more detail in my article “Why Can’t My Bank Tell These Charges Aren’t Mine?” here: https://www.cardozalawcorp.com/blog/why-can-t-my-bank-tell-these-charges-aren-t-mine-.cfm
If the transactions were obviously strange and your bank still denied your fraud claim, contact our law firm. We can look at what actually happened and determine whether we may be able to help.
