This is what makes these cases so frustrating.

You turned on alerts. You noticed something suspicious. You called immediately. You told the bank the transaction was not yours. You did exactly what consumers are constantly told to do when they suspect fraud.

Then the fraud happened anyway.

That does not necessarily mean the bank could have prevented every transaction. But you are entitled to ask what happened after your warning and whether the bank’s response made sense.
