Started in 1936 by Louis V. Slavens as “Slavens Collection Agency,” it was purchased by Earl Anderson in 1976. Bruce F. Griffin joined in 1985 as General Manager. He implemented the concept of satellite offices reporting to a central hub and changed the name to Anderson Financial Network, Inc. The name changed again to Afni, Inc. in June 2000.
In 2004, Afni received a $25 million revolving line of credit from NewStar Business Credit.
