Business Model:
Delray Capital, LLC specializes in the purchase, resale and collection of charged off consumer debt. It buys defaulted consumer debt, primarily credit cards and consumer loans from lending institutions, resellers or brokers and then collects the portfolios that it owns through the outsourcing of the accounts to various collection groups and then through resale. Delray was formed in 2012 in Ohio.
Delray is rated “D” by the Better Business Bureau in New York.
And it is rated “F’ by the Better Business Bureau in Florida due to complaints about the use of “high pressure tactics” while attempting to collect debts. In November 2015 the BBB contacted Delray President Mark Gray who responded that Delray uses agencies to collect debts, that Delray merely processes payments, and therefore Delray is not the true subject of the complaints.
Mark Gray is also currently associated with two other companies: Cooper Financial, LLC and Palm Capital Funding, LLC.
Delray also may have operated under the names Capital Resource Consultants, LLC, and Sullivan Asset Management.
* Ranking determined by the overall number of debt collection complaints to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) as of year-end 2015 and should be considered in context of company size and/or market share. See the CFPB debt collection complaint database in real-time here.
